Abstract
This report provides analysis of the results of IDC' s Manufacturing Insights'
most recent survey, which was carried out in Western Europe.
The survey is based on 87 interviews with CPG manufacturing firms in Germany,
France, the U.K., Italy, and Spain.
The purpose of this study is to understand the following:
- Enterprise IT solutions adoption trends
- Spending structure of currently adopted enterprise IT solutions
- Short-term solution priorities and investment plans
This report is part of a series of studies, which includes:
- Companies' IT budget and IT decision-making situation and evolution
- Analysis of business horizontal solution adoption and investment plans.
"Western European CPG manufacturers are continuing on their journey to build a
solid foundation for enterprise applications," said Lorenzo Veronesi, analyst,
Manufacturing Insights. "Although there is still a major emphasis on building
out internal systems, we are now beginning to see the fruits of this effort and
investment as companies explore opportunities beyond their four walls."
