Abstract
Mobile broadband is becoming an increasingly important way for people to
access the internet and in very advanced markets such as Austria it accounts
for nearly 40% of total broadband connections. In the majority of markets
however, mobile broadband is still in an early development phase and
characterised by a highly fragmented offer with varied pricing structure and
different levels of service performance. In this highly fragmented scenario,
MNOs face a major challenge in developing attractive mobile broadband offers
capable of driving market penetration whilst delivering a good level of
service performance in a profitable manner.
This report provides a comprehensive set of mobile broadband benchmarks across
16 operators in 15 different markets aimed at assisting MNOs in developing
successful mobile broadband propositions. The benchmarks deal with aspects
such as service propositions across prepay and postpay segments, commercial
pricing models, pricing levels and service impact.
