Abstract
The total market for women' s health imaging systems, comprising breast
imaging, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) ultrasound, bone densitometry, and
computeraided detection (CAD) for breast imaging was valued at nearly $1,400
million in 2008.
This market was driven by the ongoing acquisition of more expensive
technologies such as digital mammography systems and breast magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI) equipment for access to improved clinical capabilities.
