Abstract
The European market for soft tissue repair devices - comprising vaginal
slings, inguinal hernia repair, ventral hernia repair, pelvic floor
reconstruction (PFR), staple line reinforcement (SLR), and dural repair
devices in France, Germany, Italy, and the UK - was valued at more than $240
million in 2008 .
The main driver of this market was the increasing adoption of commercial
products over traditional methods of repair because they cause less pain for
the patient and are easier for physicians to use, resulting in overall process
efficiencies
