Abstract
This report provides a pan-European overview of convenience foods and convenience eating habits in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.
Convenience eating is examined in the context of current trends towards natural foods, sourcing local ingredients and avoiding food miles and the apparent resurgence of ‘cooking from scratch’.
The key issue in the market at the moment is the degree to which the food industry can assimilate growing consumer concern regarding diet and health whilst still offering time-saving, which remains the principal driver of consumption.
