Abstract
The public sector is at a crossroads - needing to behave more like a
co-ordinated enterprise than a collection of independent and unconnected
agencies. This new connected government requires an increased focus on
horizontal ICT infrastructure and services to support and enable
interoperability across agencies.
Networks are increasingly being recognised as being at the heart of connected
government and telcos provide the life blood of the networks. Policy
executives and CIOs should reconsider the role telcos and next-generation
networks play in acting as catalysts and platforms for connected government.
