Abstract
SYNOPSIS
This report is a catalog of current and future AMI and smart meter deployments
in the U.S. It includes profiles of utilities, government agencies, and
private organizations influencing the development and use of Smart Grid
systems. It also includes specific data on current utility activities,
including a summary of deployments and plans, the number of residential
customers covered, and the types of meters and technologies implemented.
Detailed data are provided in a separate Excel file for review and analysis.
“Environmental concerns, the rising cost of energy, and new government
initiatives are all driving the renewed and very real push for residential
energy management,” said Bill Ablondi, director, home systems
research. “This report is a comprehensive snapshot of the current status
and activities of utilities throughout the U.S. and provides solid data on the
capabilities they are enabling and the technologies they are
implementing.”
