Abstract
The report forecasts annual VLJ deliveries broken down into aircraft type and
geographic spread. It also lists annual delivery values, based on the list
prices of aircraft and compound estimated currency inflation rates. Data is
gathered from aircraft manufacturers, aircraft operators, regulatory bodies
and financial organisations - this is then compared with other
“high-level” forecasts and the final estimates are calculated,
taking into account historic fluctuations in the aviation market.
The report also features:
- A comprehensive overview of current market conditions and future catalysts
to growth and challenges
- The regulatory, financial and industrial hurdles to bringing VLJs into
full operation
- Detailed aircraft programme histories
- Technical and market information about each aircraft type
- The industrial supply chain for each aircraft type, specifying who
supplies what on each aircraft
- Related operating issues, such as training and maintenance
Methodology
The authors have attempted to define the market by considering:
- High-level market views from trade associations, engine/component
manufacturers, consultants and regulators.
- “Bottom-up” views from individual manufacturers as to their
own production plans and forecasts
- Views from customers - owner-operators and air taxi/corporate customers.
This raw data has then been assimilated with other data from journals,
periodicals, aviation associations and other public domain sources before
being analysed by the project team members. It has then been validated by a
board of non-manufacturing industry experts.
We have tried to balance the prognostications of manufacturers with the known
demand by customers - and analysed the realistic potential of the demand.
