Abstract
In 2008, the global li-ion battery output was about 3.5 billion; China, South
Korea and Japan were still the key producers in the world. Along with the fast
development of Chinese and South Korean li-ion industry, the global market
share of Japan had further dropped. The li-ion battery output increased
steadily in South Korea which was mainly benefited from the stable demand of
Samsung and LG; the li-ion battery output in China was about 1.5 million, up
11.15% of last year.
China has become one of the largest li-ion batter production bases in the
world, the li-ion battery manufacturers mainly located in Guangdong province,
Shandong, Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province and Tianjin. Especially the city
of Shenzhen has a number of key producers such as BYD, BAK, B&K and HYB.
Moreover, the city of Tianjin is expected to be another li-ion battery
manufacturing center in China.
