Abstract
Worldwide shipments of solar photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules surged by 54% to over 1 Gigawatt
in 2004 and a CAGR of 43% for the last 5 years. While this is a tremendous achievement, there is
still a cloud of uncertainly surrounding the industry. Key issues involve the silicon feedstock
shortage, the high price of starting material, and the reports of sold-out conditions well into
2006. Given these supply constraints, shipment growth will slow considerably.
Photovoltaic Manufacturer Shipments 2004-2005 is an in-depth look at the supply side of the
photovoltaic industry. Strategies Unlimited analyzes shipments and capacity providing insight into
industry trends useful to executives. This new report is currently available from Strategies
