Abstract
The report analyses the US copper and fiber communications cable systems
market for public and private networks, including the telecom wireline,
telecom wireless, CATV/MSO/Satellite TV and enterprise segments. Demand value
by segment is analyzed in terms of copper vs. fiber cable, and copper vs.
fiber apparatus, during the 2007 to 2012 period. Factors influencing demand in
each segment are given, e.g. telecom wireline and telecom wireless capex;
telecom capex by carrier; telco wireline and wireless subscriber totals;
catv/mso subscribers by company; satelitte tv subscribers by company; catv/mso
and satellite tv capex by company; and macro influences on the enterprise
segment. Sales and market shares of leading suppliers and markets served are
shown. The competitive environment is discussed. Finally, financial
comparisons along with profiles of leading players are given.
