Abstract
REPORT HIGHLIGHTS
- The global market for NBC and explosive device detection increases from
$1.7 billion in 2006 to an estimated $2.0 billion by the end of 2007. It
should reach $3.5 billion by 2012, a compound annual growth rate of 11.3%.
- Between the public and private sectors, nearly $58 billion was spent on
security equipment in 2006. This market will generate approximately $82
billion in annual revenues by 2012.
- Many governments now have laws requiring the use of biometric markers in
passports and other identification papers. Passage of these laws and other
forces are driving increased activity in the biometric safety market.
