The wireline carrier equipment market totaled $6.6 billion in 2001. This market is currently forecast to grow at a CAGR of 11.1%, reaching $11.2 billion in 2006.
Enterprise network equipment totaled $8.7 billion in 2001. A CAGR of 11.3% for this segment places factory shipments at $14.8 billion in 2006.

The key driver for growth in this sector is wireless handsets as cost pressures compel manufacturers to either outsource manufacturing to EMS providers or set-up shop themselves in lower labor cost regions.
Wireline carrier networks represent the second fastest growing sector with a 2002 forecast growth of 12.3%. The wireline sector is driven primarily by investments by the Chinese Government in basic infrastructure and by competition among carriers.
Enterprise Networks is third with a current 2002 forecast growth of 10.3%. The enterprise sector is driven by both local consumption growth and a strong export trade.
