Abstract
Mobile IT applications for use on cell phones are increasingly including a
component that allows the identification of location. Location is being used
as a management tool in the transportation/dispatch market vertical and in new
workforce management applications. However, until wireless carriers begin
actively marketing location-enabled mobile IT applications, the market will
lag. In-Stat does not expect significant growth for cell phone-based
location-enabled applications for the enterprise until 2007.
This report includes low-, mid- and high-range forecasts for the uptake of
cell phone-based enterprise applications using location through 2010.
"Location-Enabled Services in the Enterprise" looks at current carrier
initiatives and the applications developers who are likely to be the primary
players in this emerging market. Wireless carriers and applications developers
can use this report to gain better understanding of the state of
location-enabled enterprise applications.
