Abstract
Looking to increase the availability of Internet access, local governments
have started to take an active role. For wireless networking equipment
vendors, the local governments are an important market vertical.
This report looks at just one part of that market vertical, municipal driven
network deployments for public Internet access. In addition, it provides
important detail on the quickly developing business and service models for
this market. It also looks at recent regulatory activity and how it affects
muni-wireless deployments.
Worldwide forecasts of the number of cities deploying wireless networks for
public access and total CAPEX are also included.
