Abstract
As the satellite market continues to grow and mature, the industry as a whole,
is slowly offering and engendering new features and services. We expect the
satellite set top box market to eclipse 81 million units (both FTA and pay-TV)
by the end of the forecast period.
HD and DVR continue to be features/services that are being called upon to
differentiate products, while increasing ARPU and reducing churn. With
potential markets like China on the horizon, and new business models coming to
the forefront, the satellite industry remains fresh and poised for adaptation
in response to an ever changing TV market.
