Abstract
SUMMARY:
This report offers a comprehensive picture of the furniture sector in Russia,
providing trends in furniture production and consumption, furniture imports
and exports. Factors determining the demand for furniture are examined, as
well as furniture distribution and furniture supply structure.
Russian furniture production is broken down by segment and by federal district.
Russian furniture consumption is broken down by product (office furniture,
upholstered furniture, kitchen furniture, cabinet furniture for home,
specialized furniture). A profile of the Russian furniture consumer is
outlined.
The analysis of furniture distribution channels covers: large specialist
shopping centres, network of retailers, independent retail outlets,
Soviet-style furniture shops, furniture corner, furniture fairs (bazaars).
Russian furniture exports and imports are broken down by country and product
(office furniture, kitchen furniture, upholstered furniture, dining and living
room furniture, bedroom furniture, seats parts, parts of furniture).
The wood and forestry sector is also considered: production, imports, exports
and consumption data are provided for the main semi-finished wood products
(sawnwood; wood-based panels: plywood, veneer sheets, particle board panels,
fibreboard panels, MDF), as well as investments in the wood processing
industry. Woodworking machinery imports from the main partner countries are
included.
Addresses of 127 furniture companies mentioned in the report are also included.
