Abstract
Introduction
The Russia Logistics Outlook is part of the Central and Eastern European
Logistics series, which assesses the logistics industry, foreign trade, major
industries affecting the logistics sector and the key logistics service
providers. The reports also forecast the outlook for freight transportation
and logistics across modes out to 2012 for each individual country.
Scope
Country facts, overview, policy and business. Economic overview and
performance, foreign trade partners and industries, economic issues and
prospects. Customer Industries: Automotive, Oil and Gas, and the Retail
sector. Freight by mode: Air, Pipeline, Rail, Road and Inland Waterways.
Highlights
The different transport modes in Russia operate quite independently without
any meaningful linkages amongst them. This separation of different transport
modes needs to be bridged if the true potential of the logistics industry in
Russia is to be tapped. The government' s road and port upgradation investment
plans hold some promise in this regard.
