Abstract
Introduction
The Slovenia Logistics Outlook is part of the Central and Eastern European
Logistics series, which assesses the logistics industry, foreign trade, major
industries affecting the logistics sector and the key logistics service
providers. The reports also forecast the outlook for freight transportation
and logistics across modes out to 2012 for each individual country.
Scope
Country facts, overview, policy and business. Economic overview and
performance, foreign trade partners and industries, economic issues and
prospects. Customer Industries: Automotive, Machinery, Pharmaceutical and
Retail sectors. Freight by mode: Air, Rail, Road and Sea.
Highlights
Road and rail transport dominate the freight volumes, accounting for over 94%
of total volumes in Slovenia. While the logistics sector has received a boost
with the country' s accession to the EU, challenges such as low levels of
foreign investment, and inefficient and insufficient linkages between
different transport modes need to be resolved.
