Abstract
The global consumption value of fiber optic component/module type attenuators
in 2007 was $125 million. The consumption value is forecast to increase to
$213 million in 2012, with strongly rising quantity growth partially offset by
a continuing decline of average selling prices. ElectroniCast' s global
forecast of fiber optic attenuators, in terms of the number of units
(quantity/each) and average selling prices (ASPs) are also presented.
This report provides the historic year of 2006 and 2007 and a 5-year
(2008-2012) forecast of the consumption of fixed (in-line and
panel-mount/bulkhead) and variable (manually controlled and electronically
controlled) optical attenuators (VOAs), segmented into the following
geographic regions: North America, Europe, Asia Pacific Region (APAC), plus
Global summaries.
The global forecast is also segmented into the following major application categories:
- Telecommunications
- Interexchange
- Subocean
- Local Exchange
- Alternate Local Carrier
