According to Karen Blackmore, program director for Retail Strategies within Energy Insights, "Distribution and retail energy providers should seriously consider adding prepayment metering to their customer options for energy usage. It can give them practical experience in smart metering concepts and allow them to increase customer satisfaction by providing additional payment channels for their customers, as well as an effective means of reducing energy consumption."
