Gas Load Forecasting Best Practices

Abstract

Gas load forecasters face new challenges due to volatile, though generally rising gas prices, and larger than expected consumer responses to price changes. This report highlights these trends, based on discussions with gas load forecasters at eight utilities, and examines best practices in utility gas load forecasting for responding to these and other issues.
