Abstract
The Load Forecasting Benchmarking and Best Practices project identifies today's
best practices in short- and longer-term forecasting to provide actionable
methods for improving load forecasting accuracy and processes, and reducing
costs. We contacted 30 utilities across North America that vary by size,
geography, and regulatory status to provide an understanding of industry best
practices and help load research managers assess how their practices compare
with the industry overall.
This report includes a summary of the information we
collected that subscribers can use to benchmark their operations, along with
our commentary and opinions regarding what constitutes best practices.
