Abstract
This Energy Insights report describes in depth the experience that the New York
Power Authority (NYPA) had in implementing a portal to enhance generation bid
optimization in the New York deregulated energy marketplace. We begin with an
overview of NYPA, discuss the business drivers behind NYPA' s decision to
implement a portal, describe the solution, outline the selection process, and
review the implementation of the portal. We also provide insight into
qualitative and quantitative benefits and look at lessons learned as well as
actions to be considered.

Wholesale Strategies. "Companies operating generation need to take note.
Depending on market conditions, a generation company could realize millions of
dollars a year through optimizing bidding strategies, not to mention it could
save about 15% of a trader' s time."
