Abstract
This Energy Insights report presents information on rebates and customer
loyalty programs. Energy efficiency is increasingly viewed as an important tool
for utilities to maximize cost savings by offsetting generation capacity,
particularly during peak loads. Rebates can be used to not only give customers
a tangible benefit to the pocketbook but also assist them in starting on energy
efficiency in their home or business.
"Utilities need to press forward with standardized rebate and loyalty programs
that can be easily repeated and expanded to maximize customer satisfaction
connected to energy efficiency," says Karen Blackmore, research director,
