patients in the hospital and home environments. The company comprises three
main business units: Fresenius Medical Care, Fresenius Kabi and Fresenius
ProServe:-
- Fresenius Medical Care is the world' s largest manufacturer and distributor
of products for haemodialysis and a major manufacturer of peritoneal dialysis
products. It also claims to be the world' s leading dialysis care provider.
- Fresenius Kabi is focused on nutrition and infusion therapy and
transfusion technology.
- Fresenius ProServe is a healthcare services and management company.
Fresenius ProServe will be replaced by two new segments in January 2008:
Fresenius HELIOS and Fresenius VAMED.
In addition, Fresenius Biotech develops products and procedures for immune and
cell therapies, while Fresenius Netcare is focused on IT services for the
healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
Based on Fresenius' strong financial results for the third quarter, the
company now expects its net income to increase by over 25% in constant
currency for fiscal 2007 as a whole, while sales are expected to grow by 9 to
10% excluding exchange rates. Previously, the company expected net income to
increase by around 25% and sales to grow by 8 to 10% in constant currency.
In the mid-term, Fresenius is targeting revenue of EUR 15 billion and an EBIT
margin of 15% by the year 2010. The company plans to achieve this target
through sales and earnings growth in all business segments. In addition, it
will be looking to strengthen its business segments through small and
mid-sized acquisitions. The company' s key strategic aims are to achieve growth
through international expansion, particularly in Asia, Latin America and
