Abstract

Demand to grow more than 10% per year through 2011

The fluid handling pump market in China has expanded 17.3 percent a year during the last five years and reached ¥38.1 billion in 2006. Demand is projected to increase 10.5 percent per annum through 2011 to ¥62.9 billion. Gains will be driven by strong growth in pump-using industries in China, such as process manufacturing, public utilities and resource extraction.

Utilities construction market to post strong gains

The utilities segment is expected to post double-digit annual gains through 2011, benefiting from a large and increasing population, and further industrialization and economic expansion, which generate high demand for power and water from residential, commercial and industrial markets. In addition, the Chinese government' s "Go West" strategy will boost utility pump demand in China' s relatively underdeveloped western regions.

Study coverage

It presents historical demand data (1996, 2001 and 2006) plus forecasts for 2011 and 2016 by type, market, and region. This study also assesses market environment factors, evaluates company market share and profiles Chinese industry competitors.
