Abstract
This Financial Insights report is the first in a series of annual reports that
profile a group of selected up and coming (U&C) technology firms that support
the insurance industry. In future years, Financial Insights will review the
progress of past U&C firms in addition to the annual report about that year' s
class. The main objectives of these annual reports are to assist insurers to
think beyond their traditional short list, alert technology firms about firms
they might acquire or partner, and identify for venture capital firms emerging
technology firms for potential tracking, investment, or acquisition.
This report is based on interviews of executives at U&C firms conducted in
January through April 2008 and Financial Insights' s analysis of the information
collected.

insurance companies in ways that are better or different that the existing
