Competition Improves Customer Service
Manufacturers are responsible for educating end-users of their products by
training the company's sales representatives and field specialists within the
clinical setting or recruiting medical professionals, such as cardiologists
and clinical technicians. There is an increasing acceptance of cardiac markers
with investing in public relations, conducting conferences or focus groups
that allow interfacing between the clinicians, laboratory technicians,
cardiologists, administrators and product specialists.
POC Testing is a Promising Market in the Future
The POC market is growing ,however, previously the need for POC testing was
seen as an unnecessary cost to the EU healthcare environment. Furthermore
central laboratories are now regarding decentralised testing as inefficient
and unworkable. We are beginning to see the approach of technologies capable
of linking satellite hospital equipment, such as POC diagnostic devices to
central laboratory information management systems. There has been limited
qualitative assessment of cardiac parameters and the total market has been
predominantly driven by laboratory based tests. POC testing provides a panel
of cardiac tests which has been received successfully indicating that growth
of this market segment is anticipated. This will lead to an overall driver in
the market, as the segment revenues increase.
