This study presents a thorough review of the Western European market for municipal waste management services. The term Municipal Solid Waste, or MSW, is used throughout this report to define household waste and other wastes collected and treated in the municipal waste stream. The term is broadly recognised by all European countries as comprising similar waste fractions.
