Abstract
The vehicles electrical architecture is of prime importance and attention, not only owing to the irreplaceable responsibility of supplying power to the entire array of systems and sub-systems, but also because, the growing weight of the electrical and electronic distribution system is beginning to be a cause of concern to vehicle manufacturers. This cause has led to the emergence of technologies that are alternative to the conventional copper cables. Optical fibres, flat cables, printed circuit boards and multiplexed cables are now percolating down from exclusive high end vehicles to mid segment vehicles.
