Abstract
TEDS concept adds a limited amount of ' smartness' to a sensor by embedding a
transducer electronic data sheet (TEDS) into the device. This electronic data
sheet provides calibration information of the sensor types but are not capable
of computing. Nevertheless, the value of a TEDS is to make sensors "plug and
play", eliminating the tedious configuration process required for "dumb"
(non-TEDS) sensors. Hence it is called as Plug and Play Smart TEDS Sensors.
