Abstract
This "Guide to Marketing POF Products to the Automotive Industry" has been prepared as
the result of many hours of research to determine the key "movers and shakers" when it
comes too the introduction of POF into the auto field. Once it has been decided by the auto
manufacturers (OEMs) to go with POF, then it is up to the equipment suppliers (Tier 1 and 2) to
develop the components, systems and subsystems.
Therefore, in order to sell into the auto industry, it is necessary to promote products and
systems to the following groups of stakeholders:
- Auto manufacturers (OEMs)
- Tier 1 and 2 system and subsystem suppliers
- Equipment manufacturers (ie. audio, navigation)
- Aftermarket suppliers
These stakeholders will be responsible for supplying the following types of automotive equipment:
- Wiring Harness manufacturers
- Equipment suppliers (audio, navigation, airbags, etc.)
- Aftermarket suppliers
