Abstract
This report provides Global Retail Insights' analysis of the state-of-play for
self-service systems, survey findings on store systems budget allocation to
self-service technologies, and implications for EMEA retailers.
Global Retail Insights joined NCR' s 2008 Self-Service Universe executive
conference held in Budapest on May 15-16, 2008. Throughout the event, GRI
analysts shared views on self-service technology trends in the EMEA retail
industry and assessed the self-service usage and strategic plans of some
leading European retailers in both consolidated and emerging markets.
Self-service systems in retail include both self-checkouts (SCO) and
interactive kiosks.
