Abstract
This Government Insights report sizes the IT spending for the Canadian
government. Government Insights provides valuable insight, prescription, and
prediction derived from demand-side and supply-side data, as well as analyst
insight.
This Government Insights study will answer the following questions:
- How large is the IT opportunity in the Canadian government vertical?
- How does the IT opportunity split out by jurisdictions and region?
- What can vendors expect from the government market in Canada in the 2008-2012 period?
"Total government spending for hardware, software, and IT services will
increase from C$5.6 billion in 2008 to C$6.5 billion in 2012. IT suppliers
wanting to capture a share of that growth must take advantage of opportunities
to provide infrastructure hardware and software, especially at the provincial
and municipal government levels; sell software and integration services to
support government transformation; and nurture outsourcing opportunities,
starting with the Western provinces," says Alison Brooks, research director,
Government Insights.
