Abstract
Broadband gives telecom operators the opportunity to move beyond providing consumers with basic communications services such as voice and Internet access to delivering a wide array of entertainment to the home. IPTV has emerged as a key service that broadband operators are now turning to in order to reduce churn and increase revenue from consumer users. "In order to be successful, broadband operators will need to differentiate their service bundles from the video services already available in the market," said Jill Finger Gibson, research director, European Telecommunications Services. "The area they will be able to do this is in high-quality content underpinned with interactivity."
