Abstract
This IDC study highlights the results of the second annual Enterprise VoIP Survey conducted by IDC in conjunction with InfoWorld magazine. Completed in June 2005, this was a Web-based survey of readers of InfoWorld, all of whom were located in the United States. This study focuses on those questions regarding both IP PBX and hosted VoIP services market activity.
"Enterprises are characterized by heterogeneous telephony environments," says Nora Freedman, a research analyst with the Enterprise Networks. "Our study highlights how buyers are struggling to make sense of the multitechnology, multisolution, and multivendor environments that they are living in, while the vendors face increasing market competition from nontraditional sources."
