Abstract
This IDC study provides an in-depth look at the U.S. inkjet and laser printer
market installed base, page volume, and cartridge shipment opportunities.
"Color page laser printing is clearly the focus area for vendors in the near
future. Overall color AMPVs are estimated to post a 2004-2009 CAGR of 15%, the
highest among all other segments of printers. This is followed by monochrome
lasers, with an estimated AMPV CAGR of 13.1%. For those vendors that have
fallen behind in building a good printer installed base, the focus could be
more on midrange and high-end devices, whose the print volumes are likely to
pick up significantly." - Sahaja Sarathy, research analyst, U.S. Hardcopy
