Abstract
This IDC study gives an overview of the use of printers and MFPs in home office
households by technology and examines printer brand preferences. The study also
lists a number of recent announcements regarding lower-priced laser printers
and MFPs.
"There are currently 31 million PC-owning home office households in the United
States, and virtually all of these households have printers or MFPs," says
Merle Sandler, senior research analyst in the SMB and Home Office services at
IDC. "Declining prices have increased interest in laser technology, especially
as color lasers begin to reach affordable price points."
