Abstract
This IDC study presents the results of IDC's Australia Digital Home Consumer
Usage Survey
2006 conducted in March 2006. The key technologies covered include PC and
Internet, home networking, video, and audio. The study examines and analyses
consumers' awareness, interest, ownership, and usage of the various digital
services and devices.
"Currently, as portrayed by the survey results, consumers generally lack
interest in applications such as home networking and Internet video. One reason
for this is their lack of awareness, thus it is important for vendors to
provide consumers more information on their products and services. Vendors
across different industries -Internet service providers (ISPs), IT, and
consumer electronics (CE) - must work together to communicate the digital home
vision to consumers," says Sophie Lo, research analyst, Consumer Digital
Markets, IDC Australia.
