This IDC Vendor Profile outlines the history of Plateau Systems and describes
its current status. The market for talent management products and services is
an interesting and hot one, with new entrants coming from a variety of human
capital management legacies. These legacies include traditional HRIS
functionality, recruiting applications, and learning management solutions.
Plateau has its roots in learning management and has been a leader in the LMS
market for the past nine years. The company more recently extended its
portfolio into other areas of talent management, including HR business
analytics, workforce performance management, and career and succession
planning. This study describes Plateau's strategy and analyzes the company's
position in the larger talent management market along with its potential for
becoming a major provider.
