Abstract
This IDC study analyzes results from a March through April 2006 telephone
survey of 303 copier dealers and 80 IT resellers that sell laser copiers and/or
laser MFPs. The survey covers a broad range of topics that will be analyzed in
a series of studies. In this study, we analyze copier dealer and IT reseller
satisfaction with hardcopy vendors' channel programs and the impact on the
various hardcopy vendors as dealers/resellers plan to drop or pick up laser
copier/MFP brands.
According to Angèle Boyd, group VP, Imaging/Output and Document Solutions,
"Given the tendency of both copier dealers and IT resellers to be three times
more likely to pick up than drop laser copier/MFP brands, hardcopy vendors have
opportunities to add to their channel rosters. Using the findings from this
study, vendors can map out the competitive landscape by the type of channel
partner they wish to engage with further."
