Abstract
This IDC update concerns how enterprise mobility is steadily gaining ground in
the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ region, as different players brace
themselves to meet the needs of a rapidly growing mobile workforce. The
ecosystem consisting of vendors like enterprise mobility platform providers,
mobile device suppliers, and ruggedized device suppliers is launching new
products, and entering into technology and distribution partnerships to address
the emerging mobility needs of the enterprises in the region. The products,
solutions, and services offered under the enterprise mobility umbrella are
rapidly evolving with the emergence of new radio access technologies,
standards, devices, and technology collaborations. The two presentations
provide the trends related to enterprise mobility ecosystem and solution
adoption among enterprises.
The presentation titled Enterprise Mobility: Is the (Supplier) Ecosystem
Equipped to Ride the Next Wave? provides an overview of the enterprise mobility
ecosystem. It gives a forecast of market spend and end-user spend related to
enterprise mobility. Based on IDC's surveys, the presentation provides IDC's
assessment of enterprises' needs and concerns surrounding enterprise mobility
as well as the prosumers' usage pattern in the APEJ region.
The presentation titled Enterprise Mobility Solution Adoption: Road Map for the
Big Leap Forward in Asia/Pacific provides the trends related to the adoption of
enterprise mobility solutions. It provides a detailed understanding of how
solutions and products will evolve and find acceptance among enterprises in the
region. It gives IDC's insight on key areas that are attracting industry focus
such as mobile enterprise email, enterprise fixed-mobile convergence, security
solutions, and mobile devices.
