Abstract
This study contains an assessment of the Western European DSL equipment market
in 2005 and a detailed forecast for the 2006-2010 period. Shipment and revenue
expectations are provided, by country for DSL network equipment and customer
premises equipment. The DSL network equipment forecasts are further segmented
by DSL flavor (ADSL, G.SHDSL, VDSL), while the CPE forecast is broken down by
form factor (standalone modems and devices with integrated modem).
"As growth in subscriber additions starts to level off, replacement and
migration towards higher bandwidth DSL flavors will become the key drivers of
demand for DSL equipment," said Jan Hein Bakkers, research manager at IDC.
