Abstract
This IDC study provides an overview of the small-, medium-, and
medium-large-sized businesses' preference and usage of telecommunication
technologies across Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan). Detailed analysis is
conducted across a range of vertical industries, sub-regions and company sizes
and some of the primary issues covered include current and planned adoption
behavior and budgeting as well as service provider selection criterion.
"The communications/media/transportation sector and Greater China are seen as
forerunners in the adoption of IP VPN and will continue this high adoption with
18.0% and 13.5% of non-subscribers respectively planning for adoption over the
next two years. Companies in Korea and Southeast Asia are also promising a high
adoption of IP VPN over the next two years with 23.4% and 20.1% of them
planning to adopt such services over the next two years," says Alice Lai,
research manager, Partnering and SMB Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
