Abstract
The focus of the study is a survey of 769 small, small to medium, medium, and
large businesses operating in Europe, summarized in the study as small (50-99
employees), small to medium (100-499 employees), medium (500-999 employees),
and large (>1,000 employees). The survey covers the United Kingdom, France,
Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark.
Results and analysis are provided for all eight countries interviewed, and a
further breakdown by country, company size, and industry sector is provided.
The information provided in this study is essential reading for mobile
operators, system integrators, handset vendors, and any other player in the
mobile market that is interested in understanding the enterprise market
activities in the wireless space.
The study will provide these companies with essential survey results and
analysis on how European businesses receive mobile operator services, as well
as adoption rates and future purchase plans of small, medium, and large
organizations.
According to Rosie Secchi, research manager at IDC' s European wireless and
mobile communications group, "The business-working environment has seen quite a
few changes in the last few years. IDC believes that enterprise mobility can
provide a potentially effective route for businesses to reinvent themselves.
Vendors should therefore position enterprise mobility as the short and quick
road to business automation and productivity enhancement in a cost-effective
way."
