Abstract
This IDC study quantifies the permanent archival requirements in gigabytes for
the number of images captured, shared, and received by capture device users
(i.e., digital camera, scanner, camera phone, digital camcorder, and film
camera) globally for consumers and businesses. This aggregate is divided into
archival locations, based on IDC survey data.
"Inexpensive flash memory cards will be the key driver for the image forecast,"
said Chris Chute, research manager of Digital Imaging Solutions and Services at
IDC.
