Abstract
This IDC study examines how Canada' s IT services industry, including our
nearshore industry, will be impacted by adjustments to Canada' s economic
composition and performance because of the recent and rapid appreciation of the
Canadian dollar. "The rise of the loonie is reshaping Canada' s business
landscape, and the technology sector is no exception," says Nigel Wallis,
research manager for Application Services. "IT services vendors need to
consider how this will impact their domestic sales as well as their ability to
utilize Canadian development centres in their global delivery models."
