Abstract
This IDC study (which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J7250105,)
provides an overview of the Japan IT outsourcing market in 2007 and the
competition landscape among the leading vendors. It includes consolidated
revenue rankings and profiles of the leading vendors in the March 2007 term.
While the Japan IT outsourcing market continues to expand, contracts are
getting smaller and services are also being standardized. In the medium term,
this may promote service commoditization and cause a drop in vendor profits.
"To increase user satisfaction and ensure profits, vendors should not only
endeavor to identify customer issues through the maintenance of long-term
relationships, provide optimal mixes of standardized services, and reduce costs
but also constantly seek to propose and deliver new service value," observes
Yukuhari Yorifuji, IT service, group manager, IDC Japan.
