Abstract
This IDC study presents IDC' s predictions of the most prominent trends that
will impact upon the Australia information and communication technology (ICT)
market in 2008. 2008 will be a year of new technology developments, changing
market segmentations, innovative delivery and pricing models, disrupted and
emerging ecosystems, as well as the year of potential frustration in the
fixed-line broadband market.
"The Australia ICT market will reach almost A$60 billion spend in 2008, with
individual sectors exhibiting very significant differences in their specific
growth rates. One thing however is certain - competition will intensify.
Successful vendors will be those that can incorporate new technology and
fulfillment capabilities into their traditional go-to-market strategies," says
Tim Dillon, associate vice president, Research, IDC Australia and New Zealand.
